Hey there,
i couldn't find anything about it in the archive, so I thought I give it a shoutout: The Open Bioinformatics Foundation is again an umbrella organisation for this years Google Summer of Code and offers many interesting projects across different Bio-projects: http://obf.github.io/GSoC/
Amongst many others there are project ideas for BioPerl, BioNode, some Python programming projects and we're looking for some people who are into Ruby (on Rails) and the web for openSNP. So, if you're a student and still looking for a summer job you might find something cool there!
Cheers,
Bastian
