Position: DevOps Architect (Cloud)

Location: Bellevue, WA

Job Type: Contract

Play a key role in shaping Customers technology strategy by applying expertise in technology architecture. We are looking for a great Cloud DevOps Engineer to raise the bar for a high-performing team that delivers large scale solutions on the cloud. We are looking for a highly skilled individual for designing, architecting and implementing next generation system architecture and automation solutions on AWS. We value ownership and leadership skills and working with DevOps methodologies and tools. You are self-driven, work well in a team, have great communication skills and bring leading edge skills with Linux, Python, configuration management, CI/CD and monitoring tools. You have delivered container based deployments and can offer solutions to the complexities of orchestration and will drive the company towards delivering containers in production.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years related work experience
• 5+ years of hands-on coding and automation experience (and has maintained ability to code)
• Attitude and aptitude for continually learning new things
• Ability to articulate the relationship between business strategy and technology strategy
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with varied audiences
• Experience explaining difficult concepts to decision makers to help shape technology strategy
• Experience modeling as-is and to-be architectures based on business requirements

Technologies:

• Experience leading the architecture for public and private cloud platforms such as: AWS & Azure
• Experience leading the architecture for PaaS solutions such as: Cloud Foundry, Mesosphere, and Kuberneties
• Experience leading/managing Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CICD) projects for a wide range of technologies and programing languages such as: Java, Java Script, Python, Ruby, etc.
• Experience leading the architecture for configuration management solutions such as: Puppet, and Ansible.
• Software development experience in languages such as Java, Python, NJS, JavaScript and / or Ruby.
• Hands-on experience with and experience managing resources implementing solutions comprised of one or more of the following from each:
• Puppet, Ansible
• Jenkins(Continuous Delivery process and tools)
• Java, Python, Ruby, Node.js, or Java
• Git, Bitbucket, SVN, Perforce, etc., including migrations from one to another (source code repositories)
• Open Source Monitoring Tools : Graphite, Grafana, Prometheus & etc.
• Monitoring Tools & Platform: App Dynamics, Splunk & Cloud Watch
• Containerization: Docker, Mesosphere, Kuberneties, DC/OS,ECS etc..
• Understanding of service-oriented architecture (REST APIs, micro-services, etc) and API implementation.
• Familiarity with IP networking concepts such as VPN, DNS, load balancers, firewalling.
• Experience with on-premises infrastructure as well as public and hybrid cloud methodologies.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership, project guidance, and business development in various cloud [AWS & Azure] technology areas
• Assess the needs of a customer and leverage DevOps methodologies to architect and design a wide range of DevOps solutions which ultimately enable customers to delivery high quality software faster.
• Lead efforts and work collaboratively with Client Personnel to design and document the appropriate DevOps Solutions that will support business objectives and developer communities such as: Configuration Management, Continuous Integration/Deployment, Cloud, IaaS, PaaS, and Self-Service deployment automation platforms.
• Evangelize and communicate the vision for architecture and technology stack with the Client and ensure buy-in and alignment prior to implementation.
• Lead and manage Client DevOps engineers/personnel to implement a solution that realizes the architectural vision and design.
• Ensure that people and process/workflow are aligned to enable and support the DevOps transformation. This may include ownership of documentation and/or working with Client personnel or DevOps team members to complete definition, documentation and roll-out to the Client.
• Perform analysis best practices and emerging concepts in DevOps, Infrastructure Automation, and Enterprise Security;
• Serve as a systems and automation evangelist providing thought leadership, participating in conferences, authoring white papers, etc.;
• Create technical documentation.
