Re: [DIYbio] DIY Lab Impact Survey

Sure! I'm the founder of Indie Lab (a DIYbio lab based in Richmond, Virginia) and I'm helping start the Capital Area Biospace in Washington, DC. I've founded a company that creates algal technology called Spira that went through the RebelBio accelerator program and I'm deeply connected online and in-person to many of the people on this forum.

I will post all the data in an open and accessible format (all personal details and input will be anonymous). Does that help? Sorry for the late response. I plan on gathering more responses at the community biosummit.

Could you provide details about yourself and your ability to disseminate the results of this survey?

Calling all biohackers / DIYbiologists!

Thank you everyone for being so open and welcoming in this community. I've designed a little survey to gather data on the total impact of community labs as means of giving back. It should take no more than 30 minutes to complete.

This survey is meant to gather data on the community impact of the DIY science labs across the world as a means of showcasing the beneficial activities DIY science spaces impart upon their communities. This data will be collected and disseminated to the community labs that participate as a means of securing funding from local government, philanthropic donors, and other supporters of DIY science. One of the biggest problems facing these community science spaces is not demand, it is stable funding sources and skeptical thoughts surrounding what DIY science labs are able to do. We hope this data helps with that.

If you could fill it out and share it with as many people as possible I would be eternally grateful!
