Role: Java Developer
Location: NY

Requirement:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Application support (issue investigation, replication and resolution)

·         Application administration and configuration

·         Programming for application support (JSP, SQL queries, XML, mapping)

Examples of specific duties include:

·         Document the status and resolution of each support issue by using issue tracking software (JIRA)

·         Utilize expert level technical knowledge of the J2EE application, including system architecture , database schema, application specific web services and integration points to resolve support issues

·         Learn how to configure application features and understand which portions of the application can be customized through XML configuration files and/or custom Java classes, and which requests must be referred to the vendor for a core product change

·         Assist in the development, deployment, and testing of enhancements, and testing of new core product releases from the application vendor

·         Be the point of contact for user configuration, technical assistance and feature requests

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

·         Java Toolkit (Ant, Tomcat, log4j, Hibernate), SQL, Subversion

DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

·         Java 1.5, JSP, XML, Bluegill or IRA tracking software, DOS scripting

·         Multi-tasking, good communication skills, problem solving.
