Role : Linux Admin
Location : NY

Specific Responsibilities:

• Provide advanced systems administration for Linux, Apache, mySQL, and PHP (LAMP)
• Analyze system performance and suggest/implement tuning as needed
• Develop system tools and utilities (i.e. scripts, etc.) to simplify and support IT and business operations
• Plan, implement and manage systems initiatives with IT and customer teams
• Establish & maintain technical standards & server security policies
• Patch Linux servers, both software and firmware, on scheduled basis as well as urgent security releases
• Performance Monitoring, Capacity Planning, Trend Forecasting
• Document and improve upon processes, procedures, and best practices to align with industry standards and customer needs
• Availability Reporting

• Web Server configuration and administration: IIS, Netscape and Apache.
• Meet Disaster Recovery requirements to ensure Business Resumption requirements
• Provide high-level of customer satisfaction to internal and external customers, applying necessary sense of urgency and creativity in problem identification and prompt incident resolution
• Provide advanced systems administration for Linux
• Analyze system performance and suggest/implement tuning as needed
• Install additional OpenSource and commercial software products, in a LAMP environment, as needed to develop, deploy, and support the platform
• Administer and support SESIS-specific platform tools including - but not limited to - TIENET, LaserFiche Rio, and OMTool

Requirements

Experience:

A minimum of 8+ years of Information Technology experience. At least 3+ years as a Linux, Apache, mySQL, PHP (LAMP) Architect / Administrator.  Experience working with LAMP in a LARGE enterprise environment.

Knowledge:

• Planning, designing and installation of servers (Red Hat). Troubleshooting, patching, and maintenance of servers.
• Performance tuning, using built in OS functions and external/3rd party tools.

• Installing and configuring Apache, mySQL, and PHP.

• Failover and High Availability for LAMP and LAMP-based applications.
• Provides integration support services for LAMP and LAMP-based applications
• Hands on experience on performance tuning and load balancing.
• Install and configure SSL certificates on all web farms
• Administer, configure, and troubleshoot third-party tools (TIENET, LaserFiche, and OMTool)

·         Good working knowledge of load balancing technologies

·         Strong knowledge of browsers

·         Excellent oral & written communication skills

Schedule: Availability as needed for on-call 7X24 shift rotations, overtime and off hours support.

Certifications: MCSE 2003 or Red Hat Linux Certificates
